Our Home: The Gooding House

In 1822, George Gooding of Massachusetts came to Central Ohio hoping to build a better life through hard work, honest dealing, and innovative thinking. He built the Gooding House and Tavern to serve travelers along the road between Lake Erie and Columbus.

The Gooding House became a celebrated place where political leaders, famous figures, and American folk heroes visited to discuss the latest news. Guests included William Henry Harrison, who became President of the United States; author Charles Dickens; and American folk hero, Johnny Appleseed.

In 2006, The Strategy Group for Media purchased the Gooding House; saving it from collapse, restoring its historic beauty, and expanding to include a full-service, state-of-the-art media production facility.

For nearly two centuries, great history and success have been found within the walls of the Gooding House.

We continue this tradition today by changing America for the better by helping elect good men and women to public office.
